The difference between manual pipettes and electric pipettes
Manual Single Channel Pipette and electric pipette are basically the same procedure, except that the electric pipette can be adjusted according to the instrument's own settings when adjusting the range; the measurement of each channel of the multi-channel pipette can be carried out according to the above steps, and a multi-channel balance can also be used, which can improve the efficiency.
Selection of pipette tips
Pipettes complete the process of pipetting through the pipette nozzle, so the choice of pipette nozzle is very critical. Most of the pipette tips used today are made of polypropylene plastic (a colorless, transparent plastic with high chemical inertness and a wide temperature range). Since the two main sources of propylene monomer are extracted from petroleum or cracked gas from petroleum refinery products, or from cracked products from natural gas, the quality of the product can vary greatly for the same polypropylene suction nozzles. Good quality pipette nozzle shape specification, nozzle tip straight, the surface color is bright and smooth and has a certain degree of elasticity; and low quality pipette nozzle will have the tip of the mouth out, the surface color is cloudy, the material slack and other phenomena appear.
In order to ensure the accuracy of the pipette, the pipette nozzle must be selected with excellent material performance (no obvious bending, the inner wall should be smooth and shiny, and there should be no residual liquid present after draining), and the tightness of the connection with the pipette meets the requirements of the pipette nozzle. The selected pipette tip is provided by the manufacturer of the pipette (different pipette sizes with different pipette tip sizes).
