At present, China's biological laboratory consumables still rely on imports for up to 95%, and the industry has the characteristics of high technical threshold and strong monopoly. There are only more than 20 large-scale enterprises in the world. The number one company is Corning, a Fortune 500 company in the United States, and Yongyue Medical is the leading company in this segment in China.
On October 24, 2018, national leaders went to Jiangsu Science City for inspection. Yongyue Medical demonstrated the company's self-developed cell culture flask and 3D cell culture scaffold-a single centimeter thick culture scaffold can cultivate hundreds of millions of cells. During the inspection, the state leader said with great interest: "A product that seems so simple, still has a big market", and issued an important instruction that "small and medium-sized enterprises can do great things."
According to reports, although Yongyue Medical's products are small, they have broken the monopoly of foreign pharmaceutical giants in terms of "biological laboratory consumables" and achieved a "zero breakthrough." At present, Yongyue Medical Phase II's approximately 100,000 square meter plant is under construction. After completion, it will become Asia's largest biological laboratory and medical consumables production base, laying a solid industrial foundation for China's R&D and production of high-end cell drugs.
In the field of life science research and development tools, Yongyue Medical has undertaken dozens of projects such as the National Science and Technology Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Innovation Fund Project, the Provincial and Ministry Collaborative Innovation and Platform Environment Construction, and the Major Special Project of Suzhou Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation. Super-hydrophilic material, super-hydrophobic modification technology, temperature-sensitive grafting technology, 3D bioprinting technology, perfusion cell culture technology and other technologies with international leading advantages.
