In the procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies, the most difficult thing to purchase is all kinds of consumables with stray and small demand. Although the value of these consumables is not as high as that of precision instruments, they play an indispensable role in the operation of the laboratory.
So how should the laboratory perform acceptance and quality inspection on the purchased consumables?
01Receipt of consumables
1) Outer packaging inspection:
The packaging should be intact and undamaged, and clearly marked-manufacturer name, product name, approval number, production date, expiry date, etc.
2) Inner packaging inspection:
Whether the inner packaging is damaged, leaking, whether the contents are complete, whether there is a corresponding instruction manual, etc.
3) The above inspection is completed when the goods arrive, and records are made at the same time:
Classified and stored in the reagent storage area
02Quality Inspection Procedure
Take the detection centrifuge tube as an example
1) Test centrifuge tube
Visual inspection:
Check whether the centrifuge tube is deformed, damaged, or cannot be closed.
Experimental detection:
The centrifuge tube can basically pass the preliminary acceptance after the visual inspection is qualified.
If the visual inspection is unqualified or the visual inspection is qualified, there are even frequent bursts, liquid leakage, etc., and then the experimenter shall conduct the experimental inspection.
30 centrifuge tubes were randomly sampled in this batch for experimental testing
After adding half the amount of physiological saline to the 30 visually qualified centrifuge tubes, centrifuge for 20 minutes at 10,000 rpm. If any tube caps are found to burst or liquid leakage occurs, it is considered that the centrifuge tubes do not meet the requirements of our laboratory. Experimental requirements, for return processing
After preliminary acceptance, before the batch of centrifuge tubes are put into use, take one, add 50μL of distilled water, and measure together with the specimen to detect whether the batch of centrifuge tubes are contaminated by amplification products
Take 10 centrifuge tubes and place them in a clean beaker filled with distilled water and soak for 30 minutes to detect whether the centrifuge tubes are contaminated by oil or ester.
After the above-mentioned test does not find any unqualified conditions, the batch of centrifuge tubes can be used. During the experiment, in order to prevent the centrifuge tube from bursting due to heating, a plate was added to the heating module. To
2) Detect the pipette tips
Check whether the tip is deformed or damaged;
Thirty tips are randomly selected from this batch for experimental testing;
Use a suitable sampler to suck up 0.1-0.2% glycerin with ink, and see if it is sucked into the filter element. If so, it proves that the filter element is leaking;
Use a suitable sampler to suck up a proper amount of liquid, and see if there is any clogging of the suction hole or air leakage. After removing the pipette factor, if an abnormality is found, it is considered that the batch of tips does not meet the laboratory requirements. For return processing.
