Centrifuge Test Tube is a tubular sample container that may be equipped with a sealed lid or gland. It uses centrifuge technology to generate strong centrifugal force when the object is rotated at high speed, so that the suspended particles in the rotating body settle or float up, so that certain particles are concentrated or separated from other particles.
Yong Yue Medical manufactures centrifuge tubes not only from plastic but also from glass. We also produce laboratory equipment for use with tube centrifuge . According to the different needs of customers, we can choose different plastic materials for production, including PP, PC, PS and other raw materials. According to the size, they are divided into 0.5ml, 1.5mL, 2mL, 5mL, 10mL, 15mL, 50mL and so on, with 15ml centrifuge tube and 5 ml centrifuge tubes being the most commonly used.In addition, centrifuge tubes are divided into round-bottom and pointed-bottom tubes, as well as into screw tubes and stopper tubes. Centrifuge tubes with screw caps have finer scales, while those with stopper caps have only one total capacity mark.
Microcentrifuge Tube most commonly used in the laboratory are made of plastic and glass. In general, plastic tubes are more commonly used because glass centrifuge tubes cannot be used in high-speed or ultracentrifuges. Plastic centrifuge tubes are also made of PP (polypropylene), PC (polycarbonate), PE (polyethylene) and other materials. The various materials of plastic centrifuge tubes are presented below.
The advantages of plastic centrifuge tubes are that they are transparent or translucent, have low hardness, and can be perforated to remove gradients. The disadvantage is that it is easy to deform, has poor corrosion resistance to organic solvents, and has a short service life.
Plastic centrifuge tubes can be equipped with tube caps to prevent sample leakage, especially when used for radioactive or strong corrosive samples, it is very important to prevent sample leakage; tube caps also have the function of preventing sample leakage. Volatilize and support the centrifuge tube to prevent deformation of the centrifuge tube. When choosing this point, you should also pay attention to whether the tube cover is tight, and whether it can be tightly closed during the test to avoid water leakage when it is inverted.
Material Selection
1.PP (Polypropylene): translucent, has good chemical and temperature stability, but becomes brittle at low temperatures, so do not centrifuge below 4°C.
2.PC (polycarbonate): good transparency, high hardness, high temperature sterilization, but not resistant to some organic solvents such as strong acid and alkali and alcohol. It is mainly used for ultra-high-speed centrifugation above 50,000 rpm.
3.PE (polyethylene): opaque. It does not react with acetone, acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, etc. It is relatively stable and tends to soften at high temperatures.
4.PA (polyamide): This material is a polymer of PP and PE, translucent, very stable chemically, but not resistant to high temperatures.
5.PS (polystyrene): transparent, hard, stable to most aqueous solutions, but will be corroded by various organic substances, mainly used for low-speed centrifugation, generally for one-time use.
6.PF (polyfluor): Translucent and can be used at low temperature. When the experimental environment is -100°C-140°C, centrifuge tubes made of this material can be used.
7.CAB (Cellulose Butyl Acetate): transparent, can be used to determine the gradient of dilute acids, bases, salts, alcohols and sucrose.
